RETIRED BOOTLEGGER CHICAGO GANG’S CRIME (United I*.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) Reed. Noon. NEW YORK, Tuesday. A message from Chicago states that a Chicago gang’s latest crime was committed when Benjamin Kanowitz, a retired bootlegger, attempted to start his car in a garage. He placed his foot on the electric starter, which exploded a bomb, blowing him to pieces.
