WANGANUI CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPION TRAINING HARD The -well-known Wanganui athlete and footballer, “Clarrie” Gibbons, has commenced serious training for the New Zealand cross-country championships, which take place at Wanganui in August. Savidan at the last contest in Christchurch, but he is confident this year of defeating the Aucklander on the Wanganui course, with which he is familiar. Gibbons is well known in Auckland, where, two years ago, his disqualification for accidentally bumping Savidan in the mile flat championship created somewhat of a stir.
