Gamble and his daughter, Miss Elizabeth Gamble, of P’Alto, California, arrived from Sydney this corning; by the Maheno, on a holiday irip to New Zealand. Mr. Harold T. Morton, principal of a London firm of stockbrokers and financiers, arrived yesterday by the Niagara on a visit to the Dominion. Sir Truby King, who has been visiting Europe, will return to New Zealand by the Niagara, which leaves Vancouver on July 25 and arrives in Auckland on August 13. Mr. Frank Hurley, general manager of the Mercantile and General Insurance Company, Wellington, returned by the Niagara yesterday from a visit to Sydney and Melbourne. He is at the Central Hotel. Mr. C. F. Marshall Smith has been appointed engineer to the Gisborne Harbour Board. Mr. Smith is now on the staff of the Christchurch Drainage Board and will take up his duties in Gisborne at the end of the month. Mr. C. L. Moffitt, who has been transferred from his position as accountant of the Pukekohe branch of the Union Bank to the Auckland branch, has received presentations from the Pukekohe Rugby Referees’ Association and Rugby Union, the Cricket Association, and the staffs of three banks at Pukekohe.
