CYCLISTS CLEARED
CHARGES OF COLLUSION UNION DISMISSES ALLEGATIONS (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE AROHA, To-day. The allegations of collusion made against Phil O’Shea, Jack Henderson, Alison and Alexander by certain other cycle riders in connection with the Te Aroha athletic sports on Easter Monday were considered at a meeting of the Northern Athletic Union Executive, held in Te Aroha last evening, when it was decided not to uphold the charges made, and to confirm the judge’s placings in the cycle events concerned. The whole subject was taken in com-
mittee by the executive, but the charges as they were put before a previous meeting of the Te Aroha Athletic and Cycling Club were that O’Shea and Henderson received some consideration from certain riders for pacing them to win in the big races.
Besides dismissing the allegations, the executive decided to draw the attention of" tfce club to the necessity of appointing proper, officials to comply with the rules, .and to see that riders were in their correct places at the right time.
