ROTARY MEETING
OFFICERS ELECTED At the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club last evening, officers were chosen for the ensuing year. The annual report stated that the membership was 132. The average attendance at meetings had been 81.5 per cent, and six members had attended every meeting. Mr. W. J. Holdsworth. retiring president, read a letter from the retiring district governor. Mr. Charles Rhodes, conveying his wishes to the incoming president and officers. Mr. Holdsworth expressed his thanks and appreciation of the assistance he had received from directors, and of the splendid support given him by the members. Other incoming officers were announced as follows: —Vice-president, Mr. S. Reid; directors. Mr. C. J. Tunks. Mr. J. J. Kingston, Mr. T. A. Lowe, Mr. C. Grierson; hon. secretary, Mr. W. A. Phillips: hon. treasurer. Mr. R. O’Shea; hon. auditor, Mr. H. Gilfillan. The retiring secretary, Mr. A. J. Hutchinson, will be a member of all committees The president dealt with his programme for the year, and stressed the fact that Rotary should have the goodwill of the public if it were to be an influence outside its own sphere.
