ALFRED O'SHEA SEASON
FAREWELL CONCERT Mr. Alfred O’Shea, the Irish tenor, had a very gratifying farewell last evening, when another large audience assembled at the Town Hall to hear his final concert. The tenor was in excellent voice, and was accorded a most enthusiastic reception, the appreciation of the audience being voiced in the spontaneous cheers given for him at the conclusion. Mr. O’Shea’s numbers included a Handel bracket, “Sleep, Why Host Thou Leave Me?” and “Where’er You Walk”; Percy Kahn's “Ave Maria,” with violin obbligato; Hahn’s “Si Mes Vers Avaient des Ailes”; “Annie Laurie”; and a number of Irish ballads, including the popular “Molly Brannigan.” A number of encore items were also given. A popular feature of the programme were the violin solos of Miss Claire Hartge, who had to respond to insistent demand with several encore numbers. The solo pianiste and accompaniste, Miss Kathleen Fitzgerald, in addition to providing very efficient service as accompaniste, played several delightful solos, her items being warmly applauded.
