ALTERATIONS IN PROGRAMME Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. The Golf Council has made some alterations in the championship programme from last year. The open championship and amateur qualificatio nrounds will be played first on the Friday and Saturday, and the foursomes on the Monday. The first and second rounds of the amateur championship will consist only of IS holes, played on the Tuesday and Thursday, and the final on Saturday. This cuts two days off the meeting:, which opens probably on October 12. In connection with standardisation of courses it was resolved to notify clubs not to adopt the new standard scratch .score until advised that the standardising of the majority of the courses has been completed.
