T. Kingston, a woman expert, who received her training at the Cambridge Forestry School and in the United States. Her work takes her into wild and remote regions seldom explored by the whites and, although not yet 30, she has written a monograph on one aspect of forestry which is attracting attention in scientific circles. “CHATTELS” According to Afghan law, a wife becomes part of her husband’s estate at his death, and is liable to be sold with his goods and chattels. It is reported that in order to save a German woman from such a fate, the German Minister in Afghanistan was recently forced to buy her in open market.
