BRIDGE AND DANCING

Mrs. M. Lewis, of Cotter Avenue, Remuera, gave a delightful bridge and dance party to a large number of friends on Saturday evening. The hostess received her guests in an attractive gown of black mariette banded with gold beading and studded with moonlight blue rhinestones. Miss Lewis, who assisted her mother, wore a dainty frock of peach pink georgette, with sprays of gold beading. Mrs. Smith, who also assisted the hostess to receive, was Wearing a floral patterned frock of ninon and velvet in black and autumn tonings. Tlie dance rooms were gay with a canopy of vivid streamers and myriad balloons, and tall vases of Iceland poppies decorated the drawing-room, where bridge was played.
