CAMPAIGN STARTED BENEFIT PERFORMANCES AT EMBASSY Playing areas for all the sports girls t Auckland are the objects of a big ampaign being started this evening rith a benefit performance at the nabassy Theatre of vaudeville and ■evue. The management of the Embassy mill give the proceeds of this evening’s nd to-morrow’s performances to the unds of the organisation. The Aucktnd Girls’ Athletic Association, to rhich any branch of women’s sport lay be affiliated, was recently the iccessful tenderer for the Remuera ports ground, with its space for hocey, tennis, basketball and all other etivities. A successful campaign leans that the girls will have the playbounds for a long lease and a further »tion. The Mayoress, Mrs. A. D. Campbell, the patroness of the campaign, and les R. Howard Lawson is the cruiser. Starting with the theatrical Iformance, the campaign will end ith a big copper trail in October.
