Between the Showers at Ellerslie

GLIMPSES of bright frocks and trim little tailored suits were to be seen on the stands at Ellerslie to-day, when between the showers, their wearers removed the heavy coats and rainproof wraps that hid them.

Colours for the most part were j sombre, the chief touches of gaiety being provided by the smart little hits of felt, umbrellas, handbags and other gay accessories. Among those present were: Lady Nolan, black and steel grey crepe faille frock, with fur-trimmed coat and black hat with grey feather mounts. Mrs Boddle, pearl grey frock under black sealskin coat and black velvet hat. Mrs. N. Noakes, beech brown frock with checked brown coat, and hat to tone. Mrs. Markham, tailored coat of tan tweeds, with hat to match. Miss Tole, black coat frock with felt hat of french blue. Mrs. C. Lawford, lavender suit of crepella, with furs and small brown hat. Mrs. T. Low, cherry red frock of crepe de chine with squirrel coat, and grey hat. Mrs. Kingston, jumper suit of beige and lacquer red toning, with hat to match. Mrs. Chilwell, cherry red frock and hat and marmot coat. Mrs. Harry Mowbray, navy blue suit with furs and navy hat. Mrs. Sinclair Reed, beige checked suit, with deep beige felt hat and fur poat.
