FLYING-BOATS’ CRUISE

MELBOURNE REACHED (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 9.45 a.m. MELBOURNE, To-day. The four British Southampton fly-ing-boats, which are on an Empire cruise, arrived here. A large gather ing welcomed them. A British Official Wireless message from Rugby says the flying-boats have completed the most ambitious service flight ever attempted. The flight has been remarkable for the fact that the machines have throughout flown according to a fixed schedule, and without mishap. After remaining at Melbourne for about two months, during which time the vessels will be overhauled, chey will proceed along the east and north coasts of Australia to Singapore, which will be their base in the future.
