New Method According to an Australian writer, George Price took his team from Sydney to Brisbane by sea, despite the cooks strike. The train journey is a long and tiresome one, and Price managed to circumvent the regulations and otherwise by shipping on a coastal steamer as assistant-purser, and taking his horses too. He took with him the Stradbroxe favourite Killarney, Woclita, Bernesk, and Revoir. Killarney finished only fourth in the Stradbroke, but won the New Handicap on the second day. Magdaff won the weight-for-age event, the King’s l late. M. McCarten rode both of them.
