PLUME ARRIVES SUNDAY.—A wireless message has been received from the oil-tanker Plume, en route from San Francisco, stnting that the vessel will arrive at Wellington on Sunday. KARTIGI FROM SOUTH AUSTRALIA. —Advice received by the local office of the Union Company states that the Kartigi, from Adelaide and Edithburg, leaves Melbourne next Wednesday for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington, Tarakoiae and Auckland. OTAKIA REPORTS. The tanker Otakia, bound from San Pedro to Wellington, has reported by wireless that she expects to arrive there this afternoon. The vessel brings a cai-go of fuel oil for discharge into the Union Company’s tanks at Miramar. KA I RAN G A LEAVES NEWCASTLE. —Cabled news has been received by the Union Company that the Kairanga cleared Newcastle at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday with a cargo of coal for discharge at Miramar and Wellington. .She is due there next Tuesday. WAI KOKOPU BEACON LIGHT. —The Marine Department advises that the rear leading beacon light at Waikokopu has been temporarily discontinued for the purpose of overhauling and readjustment. Further notice, conveying the date on which this light is to resume its functions, will be issued. MINERIC DELAYED. Owing to a slight repair being needed the Weir Line steamer Mineric was unable to leave Auckland yesterday. She leaves here at mid-day to-day for Westport for bunkers, thence she proceeds to Nauru Island to load phosphates for Australia. THE CANADIAN BRITISHER. —The Canadian National steamer Canadian Britisher is reported to have sailed from Montreal last Wednesday. The vessel is bringing general merchandise for discharge at Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland about August 10. MAHENO LEAVES SYDNEY.—CabIe advice received by the local office of the Union Company states that the Maheno left Sydney at noon yesterday for Auckland, where she is due on Tuesday next. She will berth at the Prince’s Wharf and is scheduled to sail from Auckland at 11 a.m. next Friday or. her return trip to the New South Wales port. ZEALANDIC AT LONDON. —Cabled news has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company that the Zealandic arrived at London last Wednesday morning from Auckland. The vessel sailed from Auckland on May 23 and therefore made the passage Home in less than 35 days. M A MARI AND TON G A R I RO.—The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Mamari and the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Tongariro are reported by cablegram to have reached London from New Zealand last Thursday. The Mamari was dispatched from Auckland, via Monte Video and Teneriffe, on May 1(5, and the Tongariro from Dunedin on May 23. PORT DENISON LEAVES NEWCASTLE.—To load in New Zealand, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Denison left Newcastle for New Plymouth yesterday. The vessel is due at New Plymouth on Tuesday and will also load at Auckland, Lyttelton and Wellington. She is scheduled to clear Wellingtipn on July 15 for London, via Monte Video. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company are the local agents. SOLD TO THE JAPA NES E.—The P. and O. steamer China has been sold to Japanese buyers for £23,500. Some years ago when bound from Australia to London with passengers and cargo, the China went ashore at Perim. She remained there for some time, but was eventually refloated and remodelled and placed in service again. Built in 180(5 and of 7.052 tons gross, the China was -M beautifullook mg vessel and was regafted as one of the crack liners of her tray.
