Thrills, mystery, suspense and a fine love interest holds the audience every moment during the showing of the picture, while the) comedy relief furnished by the two
darkies in the role of house servants brings much laughter which relieves the tension of th* more sombre moments of this picture “I>earie,” starring Irene Rich, wit also be shown. _ “Dearie” is a dramatic story of i*** York night clubs.
The old-fashioned spectator wl" just sits back in his seat and “dares the picture to make him laugh, mee:defeat in “Vamping Venus,” a deject* able screen comedy from the Fir?; Xational studios. Here is a picture which has been termed a comedy, bu which is much more than that. not only a hilarious combination °- humour and farce, but also contair* scenes that might have been features in many of the so-called big spectacle? of the year, presenting a series <*i eye-filling and amazing views of ancient Greece at its grandest. Chart* Murray is the star, with Louise Fazenda sharing honours.
