“OUTWARD BOUND”

LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY “Outward Bound,” that remarkable play by Sutton Vane, will be produced by the Auckland Little Theatre Society, in the concert chamber on July 5, u, 7 and 9.

Probably no play of recent years has caused such a sensation as this particular work. The author has conceived a great idea and has worked it out brilliantly. The cast includes Misses Daphne Knight. Lynda Murphy, Nance St. Clair - Whyte, Messrs, Arnold Goodwin. James

uooawin, Swan, Roberts Tole. John Stew-art, Montagu Steele and L. Armitage. Miss Nance St. Clair-Whyte, who will make her first appearance with the society, left Auckland 12 months ago, and has since been studying dramatic art at the London Academy. She played over 30 leading parts in the Academy’s own Little Theatre in Gower Street, London. Among the directors with whom Miss Whyte acted were Norman Page, Dorothy Green and Sir Barry Jackson. The supporters of the Little Theatre will look forw-ard with interest to the work of this Auckland girl. Miss Daphne Knight also makes her first appearance, and will play Mrs. Cliveden-Banks. The performance of this lady will undoubtedly be one of the outstanding efforts of the production. The producer, Mr. Kenneth Brampton anticipates a successful season. Box plans are now open at Lewis Eady, Ltd.

Herbert Brenon, director of ‘‘Sorrell and Son,” who recently completed ‘‘Laugh, Clown, Laugh,” with Lon Chaney and Nils Asther, will make another picture for Metro-Gold wynMayer.

Glenn Tryon. with Pat?y Ruth Miller, who is starred in the Universal production. “A Hero for a Night," is fast becoming known as one of the screen’s l greatest comedians. Ho was first in musical comedy and then in one-reel comedies before he was signed by Universal for feature productions.
