Chic and Charming Racing Modes

IN her slenderly smart tailored suits aud ensembles 3lilady was particularly neat and trim when, in her numbers, she attended the opening of the Te Kuiti Racing Club s annual meeting at Ellerslie to-day.

Tweeds and repps, velours and fisca and all the other fascinating weaves fashionable this season were to be seen in a hundred nuances of colour and in myriad delightful expressions of the present mode. Hats wer# large or small, as the wearer’s fancy dictated, and wraps of beautifully luxurious fur were almost universally worn. Among those present were: Mrs. Ballantyne, navy blue ensemble with felt hat to tone. Mrs. Prior-Williams, navy blue velour ensemble banded with fur and small scarlet hat. Mrs. A. G. Quartley, black and white checked frock, marmot coat and cerise hat with gold relief. Mrs. Gorrie, checked frock with olive green coat, furs and green hat. Mrs. Topliss (Wellington), black mariette frock, musquash coat and black and white felt hat. Mrs. Buscke, rose beige ensemble of velour with mole furs and felt hat, Mrs. W. F. Boyle, fawn jumper suit of marled wool with close-fitting amber hat. Mrs. Duncan Clark. black mariette frock and black hat with small flowers. Mrs. M. M.
