SUBURBAN MIX-UP
SERIES OF CANNONS TWO CARS, TRUCK AND CYCLE INVOLVED (From Our Ou:n Correspondent J OTAHUHU, To-day. An extraord i nary accident occurred at the corner of Station and Great South Roads, Otahuhu, just before noon to-day, in which two cars, a light delivery truck and a boy on a bicycle were involved. A car, owned and driven by Mr. Murdock, of Otorohanga, was passing a stationary truck opposite the Junction roads, when it collided with a small car, owned and driven by Mr. R. Brown, of East Tamaki, travelling north. The impact turned the latter car right round, facing the opposite direction. Mr. Murdock’s car cannoned off and struck a light delivery truck, owned by Andrew and Andrew, and driven by Mr. A. Greenhalgh. The truck cannoned of its course and struck a bicycle ridden by a lad Norman MeCarten, of Great South Road, Otahuhu. The cyclist received injuries to his head necessitating medical attention. The bicycle was badlj' buckled, and Mr. Brown’s car, a two-seater, had the front right wheel and mudguard crushed and spare wheel torn from the car. A passenger received slight facial injuries. Mr. Murdock’s car had the running board stripped off, and the tank damaged. Three lady passengers were uninjured.
