FARM-HOUSE BURNED

FAMILY AWAY ON VISIT Press Association. HAWERA, To-day. A six-roomed farm-house, owned and occupied by Mr. F. Read, on the Watino Road, five miles from Opunake, was destroyed by gre about nine o’clock last night. The origin of the fire is unknown as the family left during the morning to visit New Plymouth and did not return home last night. AUCKLAND OWNER’S LOSS Press Association. BLENHEIM, To-day. A seven-roomed house, owned by Mrs. C. Batty, of Auckland, and occupied by Mrs A. Cummings, was partially gutted by nre this morning. The insurance is £550 in the State Office on the dwelling, but there was no cover on the contents.
