NAVAL BOXING CONTESTS
INTER-PART CUP SUCCESSFUL TOURNAMENT A successful boxing tournament between sailors of H.M.S. Dunedin to decide possession of the “InterPart Boxing Cup,” was held at the Harbour Board shed, Devonport, last evening. During the evening an exhibition bout of three two-minute rounds was given by M. Conmee and Stoker MeQuade. A party from the Dunedin also gave a clever gymnastic display, comprising the rock, crash, porpoises, and tower. The boxing bouts, which were of two one-minute rounds, were fought in the usual willing naval style and were refereed by Commander F. C. Bradley, R.N., and Captain E. Bowring, R.M. The judges were Commander H. L. Morgan, R.N., Lieut.-Communder R. A. Macdonald, R.N., Lieutenant C. S. Britton, R.N., Lieutenant E. W. Reep, R.N., and Paymaster-Lieutenant W. G. Hewson, R.N. The time-keeper was C. P. 0. Airey, and the announcer was Lead - ing Seaman Canty. Results are as follow: —Stoker Donaldson beat A. B. Buckrell; Boy Boyle beat Stoker Thomas: Boy Malcolm beat L. S. Bsnseman; A. B. Knox beat Boy Munday A. B. Mclntosh beat Boy Martin; A- 3. McNeil beat A. B. Nelson; A. B. Keleway beat Boy Tel. Windleborn: Mne. Maynard beat Boy Mason by default; L. S. Vincent beat L. S. Dawes; A. B. Matthews beat Offi. Ck. Knox; Stoker Sivi beat L. S. Boyes; A. B. Wright beat Boy Demchy; Boy. Tel. Harris beat Stoker Allen; A. B. Lambeth beat Boy Hogan; Mne. Boyce beat Boy Squires; Stoker McLeod beat Mne. McAllister; Boy Davies beat Mne. Edwards; Boy Williams beat Mne. Burnett; A. B. Miln beat Mne. Colley; O. D. Fulton beat Mae. Saunders. The cup was won by Training Division with 24 points, First Division Seamen being second with 20 points, Royal Marines third with II points, and Starboard Stokers fourth with live Points. The cup was presented to the winning team by Commodore G. T C. P. Swabey, D. 5.0., R.N.
