McConachy Makes World Record In First Cue Billiards Break
Received 9.5 a.m. MELBOURNE, To-day. THE New Zealander, Clark McConachy’s billiards match against' Fred Lindrum, was abandoned, owing to the latter’s illness. A new match of 14,000 up against Walter Lindrum has been commenced. Lindrum, in play, has scored 123, and McConachy 687. McConachy compiled a world’s record break, a perfect run of 687, being the best break ever made in the first stroke of any billiards match. McConachy has been in great form this week. In the previous match, the New Zealander ran up a break of 613 (unfinished).
