AIRMEN ON WAY HOME
' LYON AND WARNER FORMER ROBBED ON SONOMA (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian Press Association.) SUVA, Friday. The American trans-Pacific flyers. Captain H. Lyon and Mr. J. Warner, also Captain Lancaster and Mrs. Keith Miller, who recently flew from England to Australia, arrived at Suva today by the Sonoma, en route to the United States. They were taken for a motor drive and entertained at luncheon by the citizens. On the voyage from Sydney an unknown person stole from Captain Lyon’s cabin a blue suit, seme underwear, and a sum of £lB, also an Aero Club pen. The thief considerately left the airman’s gold watch and some other trifles on the settee in the cabin. Future plans of the Americans are uncertain. They hope to secure work for the films at Hollywood, and also propose to fly from Croydon to New York if financial support is forthcoming. When Squadron-leader Kingsford Smith and his companions returned to their hotel at Oakland on May 30, prior to their flight to Honolulu, they found that their rooms had been visited by thieves. Squadron-leader Smith lost £2B, Flight-lieutenant C. T. Ulm £32. Captain Lyon £2O, and Mr. Warner £lB.
