Kilts and Spurs at Officers’ Dance
Vivid Colour Effect The dance held by the president and members of the Auckland Officers’ Club in the Click Clack Cabaret last evening was characterised by its wealth of blazing colour. The brave scarlet and gold and blue of the officers’ uniforms made vivid splashes of colour in the softly-shaded ballroom, and the gay splendour of a tartan was to be seen swirling in kilts around its wearer’s limbs, as he tripped a stately measure. Spurs jingled, people chattered and laughed, and the band played in provocative fashion, urging the crowd to dance.
