Parnell. * * * Mrs. Kilmartin. known on the concert stage as Miss Beatrice Elliott, is visiting Auckland after an absence of four and a-half years, sperit in England, America and the Continent. Mr. and Mrs. White, of Hukapapa, Mr. and Mrs. Howarth, of Te Kuiti, and Mr. and Mrs. J. Manders and Mr. and Mrs. F. PI. Masters, of New Plymouth, are staying at the Royal Hotel. 4= * * Mrs. PI. R. Smith, of Christchurch, who will be the Plunket Society’s delegate to the Pan-Pacific Conference in Honolulu on Augns 10, is at present ihe guest of Mrs. H. D. Bunby, Stanley Bay. She will sail by the Niagara on Tuesday.

BRIDGE PARTY AT LYCEUM CLUB Mrs. Ben Goldwater, of Devonport, was the hostess this afternoon at a delightful little bridge party at the Lyceum Club, which was attractively decorated with flowers and foliage for the occasion. Mrs. Goldwaters’ guests included: Mrs. Elliot, Mrs. Norton, Mrs. L>. Norton. Mrs. Albert Goldwater, Mrs. J. Laird. Mrs. Brinsden, Mrs. Beaumont, Mrs. Baxter, Mrs. Hansen, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. McDonald, Mrs. Hay ter Ferguson. Mrs. Frazer, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Fraer, Mrs. Wade, Miss Goldwater, Miss Violet Goldwater, Miss Duder and Miss Jennings, FAREWELL PARTY MISS MYRA McLEOD A farewell to Miss Myra McLeod, the well-known contralto vocalist, was given by Mrs. J. Knight, of Henderson, at her home on Tuesday evening. Miss McLeod left on Wednesday for Palmerston North, after having lived in Auckland for two years. Miss / McLeod sang many Scotch songs during the evening: among them were “Caller Herrin,” “Ye Banks and Braes,” “Auld Robin Gray,” “Annie Laurie,” “Coming Thro’ the Rye,” and other favourites. Some popular and operatic selections completed Miss McLeod’s contribution to the evening.
