GOVERNMENT WINS AGAIN AUCKLAND’S WINTER FIXTURE In connection with the recent trotting at Alexandra Park, the Auckland Club's quoto to the Government by way of the various taxes levied on the sport amounted to £5,076 9s lOd made up as follows. YORKSHIRE CANARY SHOW Large entries feature the fourth annual show of the Auckland Yorkshire Canary Club, opening to-morrow in the Epiphany Hall, Karangahape Road. A pair of Yorkshire canaries imported from England is being placed for competition under offer by Mr. Ernest Davis, patron, who will open the show officially at 2.45 p.m. The club is the pioneer specialist body in New Zealand, and is working to improve the type of bird exhibited. The show will be open until 9 p.m.
