The Taranaki Oilfields Company, Ltd., report that at the Gisborne No. 1 well the bottom joint of the 4£in diameter casing dropped, necessitating pulling. It is expected to be able to fish up the loose joint and resume drilling in about one week. Cheese firm, 106 s, equivalent 9.65 d. Dalgety and Company, Limited, have a cable from London dated June 28:— Butter.—The market is quieter. New Zealand, finest salted, 174 s to 178 s; Danish, 174 sto 1765; Australian, finest unsalted. 166 s to 170 s; Australian, finest salted, 164 s to 168 s; Australian G.A.Q., 156 s to 160 s. Cheese.—The market is firm. New Zealand, white and coloured, 104 s to 106 s; Canadian, white and coloured, 100 s to 102 s; Canadian, c.i.f.. 103 s to 104 s; Australian, wh.te and coloured, 102 s to 104 s. PACIFIC BUILDING, LTD. A profit of £3.450 is disclosed in the annual report and balance sheet of the Pacific Building, Ltd., for the year ended May 31, 1928. The directors ave written £6OO off goodwill, reducing the item to £1,768, placed £2OO to lift reserve, and £2B to income tax reserve. They recommend a dividend of 4 per cent., absorbing £2,208. This will leave a balance to be carried forward of £438, as against £23 brought into the account.
