BULL ATTACKS FARMHAND
HORSE MORTALLY GORED RIDER’S NARROW ESCAPE (From Our Own Correspondent) TE AWAMUTU, Thursday. A young man in the employ of Mr. C. Parker, farmer, pf Hairini, had a narrow escape from being killed by a bull on Tuesday. A Jersey bull charged the horse he was riding, but he managed to slide off and get over a fence. The horse met the impact of the bull’s charge and was badly gored, having to be destroyed. After the horse was attacked no difficulty was experienced in driving the bull away.
notified by Governor-General’s Message, and a message was also read intimating the reappointment of the Hon. J. Barr and Sir Thomas Mackenzie. Sir Robert Stout gave notice to move the Address-in-Reply motion on Wednesday next, and the Council adjourned at 3.10 until 10 a.m. on Saturday, when the Imprest Supply Bill will be considered.
