ATLANTIC FLIGHT
ENGINE DEFECT AND WIND (United P.A.—By Telegraph—CopyrightJ (Australian P.A.—United Service) Heed. 9.5 a.m. LISBON, Wednesday. The English airman, Captain F. T. Courtney, commenced a transatlantic flight to-day. He intended to land at the Ozores before proceeding to America. He used a Dornier-Wal flying boat. Two hours after the start, a broken water pipe and the strength of the wind compelled Captain Courtney to return.
