DANCE AT ST. BENEDICT’S HALL! The Puccini Amateur Musical Soci- ! ety held a delightful musicale and j dance in St. Benedict’s Hall last even- \ ing and despite the adverse weather j conditions there was a large attend- j ance of members and visitors. The j hall was festooned with streamers of ! the club’s colours and draped flags, | and in the supper rooms gay Japan- j ese lanterns and foliage made an ef- ; fective setting. Very enjoyable music J was provided by the Puccini Orches- j tra, under the leadership of Miss E. ; Ironside, and items were given by ! Miss Cecily Duncan, Miss Olga Clarke and Mr. R. Caldwell. Mr. R. Herbert, chairman, thanked the committee and members for the excellent work they have done in connection with the new society. Miss Gladys Ryan, the hostess, received the guests wearing a charming frock of atlantic blue satin du soir, with tunic of opalescent sequins. Among the dancers were: Mrs. Herbert, black gown of satin faconne, with drawn silver thread designs. Signora I. Costantini, black crepe alonza frock, with deep hem of Russian fur. Mrs. Ryan, gown of black san toy relieved with black and gold brocade. Mrs. S. W. Batten, silver fawn frock of bengaline, with ruched ribbons on hem. Mrs. Monnock, gown of black satin beaute, relieved with cherry red. Miss Edna Herbert, frock of black panne velvet with draped skirt and diaman te. Miss Adele Connolly, fuchsia georgette frock, with silver lace and shawl. Miss Olga Clarke, petalled frock of black chiffon and silver lame. Miss Lily Ryan, charmeuse gown of cinnamon brown, with floral relief. Miss Rita Madden, black frock of crepe faille, with appliqued designs in autumn shades. • Miss Doris Jenkins, taffeta frock of wild rose and shawl. Miss Hazel Lunney, green and gold lame bodice with full skirt of lettuce green georgette. Miss Dulcie Miles, frock of wistaria crepe alonza, with centre of silver. Miss Evelyn Ironside, black gown of ring velvet, with orchid relief. Miss Len. Parsonson, georgette frock of moonlight blue and silver, with diamante. Miss M. Allison, sunset frock of taffeta, with deep hem of tulle. Miss Gladys White, crepe faille gown of eau de nil and ins mauve. Miss Mavis Monnock, amber frock of satin faconne, inset with ecru lace. Miss N. Kelly, frock of nile green charmeuse and silver lace. Miss Florence Latta, pastel green frock of georgette and gold lace. Miss Pat Sheehan, black frock of chiffon and tulle worn over crepe de chine, with floral relief. Miss- I. Beeston, taffeta gown of cyclamen, appliqued with floral designs. Miss K. Oliver, lacquer red frock of crepe de chine and georgette, with gold lame. Miss Cecily Duncan, frock of poinsettia chiffon, with gold ceinture and roses of gold lame. Miss May Dunne, period frock of Venetian blue taffeta, with raised floral motifs. Miss D. Berry, this tie tuft mauve frock of georgette, with silver relief. Miss Pauline Wilson, gown of oporto blue crepe-faconne and shawl. Miss M. Berry, betty blue frock of crepe de chine, with silver sequins. Miss Marion Fairless, mignonette green shot taffeta with gold lame. Miss Gladys Ross, frock of petunia georgette, heavily sequinned with gold. Miss June Cleasby, duchess blue frock of crepe de chine, with fawn georgette.
