Best cows sold at £ls to £l9; extra, to £23; good cows, £ll to £l4 10s; others, £6 to £lO 10s; aged and inferior, £3 10s to £5 15s; best springing heifers, £ll to £ls; good average heifers, £7 10s to £lO 10s; small aifd backward, £5 to £7 10s; empty young cows and heifers, £4 to £5 ss; store cows, £2 to £3 3 ss; fat cows and heifers, £5 5s to £lO 10s; boner cows, £2 10syto £5; fat steers, £9 10s to £l2 17s 6d; grown steers in forward condition, £8 to £9 10s; three to four-year-old steers, £6 to £7 15s; two to three-year-old steers, £4 10s to £6; yearling to 18-months-old steers, £3 to £4 10s; wellbred heifer calves, £3 10s to £5; mixed sex calves, £1 15s to £2 15s; small calves, £1 5s to £1 14s; cows with calves at foot, £5 5s to £8 15s; heavy bulls, £6 10s to £9 10s; sound young herd bulls, £5 to £lO 10s; other bulls, £2 to £4 15s; ewes in lamb, £1 9s to £1 13s 6d; store wethers, £1 10s to £1 13s; small wethers, £1 8s; store lambs, 17s to £1 4s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports:—Wfe held sales during the past week at Westfield, Pukekohe, Kaukapakapa, and three clearing sales at Ngatea, Alfriston and Papatoetoe. There has been a steady demand for all classes of cattle, which have sold readily at late values. Dairy cows and heifers, best, made £lO to £l7 10s; one extra special grade Jersey cow, on account of Mr. G. F. Todd, Alfriston. realised £3O; other dairy cows and heifers, £6 to £9 10s; aged cows and inferior heifers, £2 10s to £5 15s; empty cows, £2 10s to £4 15s; yearling heifers, best, £3 to £5 10s; others, £1 10s to £2 15s; yearling to 3 8-months steers, £2 10s to £4 10s; 2 to 2i-year steers, £4 15s to £5 15s; 3to 3J-year steers, £6 to £6 15s; 4 to 4£-year steers, £6 17s 6d to £7 7s 6d; steers in forward condition, £7 10s to £8 10s; beef at fully Westfield quotations.
