Christchurch. —The following sales were recorded on the Christchurch Change yesterday: New Zealand Breweries (bonds), 22s 7d; Bank of New Zealand, 59s 2d, 595; British Tobacco, 43s sd; Mahakipawa, 3s lid (three parcels), 3s 9d, 3s 8d (three parcels). Sales reported: South British Insurance, 60s; National Mortgage (cum div.), 795. BUTTER AND CHEESE Merchants report receipt of London cablegrams as follow: Dalgety and Co.. Ltd., from their London house: Cheese—Since our last wire, prices are Is higher: now 104 s to 105 s. equal to 9.45 d and 9.55 d f.o.b. G. Paviour-Smith, from the AngloContinental Produce Company. London: "The market is steady; butter, 1765; cheese. 1055.’ Joseph Nathan and Co.: Butter. 176 s to ITSs; cheese. 105 s to 106 s. Under date June 27. the Auckland office of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received a cablegram from its London office stating prices for choicest, salted butter ro be 177 s and 170 s. The market is steady. Cheese prices are 104 s and 105 s, the market being firm. LONDON TALLOW VALUES Under date June 27 the London office of Dalgety and Company cabled as follows: "Tallow: 522 casks of tallow offered and S 3 per cent. sold. Prices, mixed good. Is higher; other descriptions, unchanged. Mutton fine, 42s 6d; beef fine, 445; mixed good, 41s; inferior, 375.”
