CITY THEATRE WILL HAVE NEW TITLE

COSTLY CHANGES AT PRINCESS One of the earliest theatres in Auckland, the Princess Theatre, Queen Street, is to be modernised, and have its title changed. The new name will be decided on within the next day or so. The title alteration is being- effected in conjunction with extensive alterations to the value of £ 5,000 or £ 0,000, which have just been commenced at the theatre. Preliminary work was in progress to-day, and the theatre should be completed within three weeks. Redecoration is being carried on, and the theatre is to have new seats throughout. The frontage is to be altered, the verandah raised, and a modern title sign is to be erected.
