Mr. V. J. LaJrner left by train for Wellington last evening. Mr. E. B. Froude arrived from the couth by the Limited this morning. The Hon. J. B. Gow, M.L.C., left for Wellington by the Limited last ingMr. E. D. Bennett was a passenger from the South by the Limited this morning. Dr. F. A. Morton has been appointed honorary anaesthetist to the Auckland Hospital. Bishop Cherrington, of Hamilton, and Mrs. Cherrington. are staying at the Central Hot eh Mr. D. Bay, general manager of General Motors (N.Z.), Ltd., is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. W. J. Jordan, Mr. J. A. Lee and Mr. M. J- Savage, members of Parliament, will leave for Wellington this evening to attend the opening of the session to-morrow Mr. S. L. Paterson, SJVI., is presiding temporarily at the Hamilton Magistrate's Court during the absence of Mr. F. W. Platts, S.M., at Thames. Sir. Platts will return within a month. Mr. John Farrell, Auckland manager for the J. C. Williamson, Ltd., arrived in Hamilton this morning from Palmerston North with the Moscovitch Company. He will come on to Auckland to-morrow. Mr. G. J. Bertinshaw, inspecting engineer of the JN ew Zealand Railways, and Mr, P. K. Angus, assistant mechanical engineer, are staying at tho Star Hotel. They are to act as a special inquiry board in connection with the train accident at Paerata. Mr. D. S. Broughton, officer in charge of the inquiry office at the Auckland Railway Station, has been transferred on promotion to the commercial branch in Wellington.
