At the Albert Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. J. Rhodes, of ‘Wellington. Mrs. C. Rutherford, of Blenheim, is staying at the Hotel Cargen. Miss Una Buddle-Dysart left town last evening the Limited express. * * * | Miss Muriel Chadwick has returned I to Hamilton from a visit to Auckland. * * * Mr. and Mrs. V. H. Potter left by the South-bound Limited last evening. At the Grand Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. H. Herron, of New York, and Mrs. Moscovitch, of London. The Hon. C. T. Carrington. M.L.C., and Mrs. Carrington, left for a visit to the South last evening. Mrs. F. Weston and Miss Weston have returned from Sydney to their home in Hauraki Road, Takapuna. Mrs. W. R. Paterson, of Napier, left Auckland yesterday by the Maui Pomare for an extended cruise of the Pacific Islands. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Scott Ramsay and their son, who have been staying at Royal Court, have taken one of the Espano flats at Myers Park. Among those at. the Star Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. W. A. McCracken, and Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Eccles, of Whakatane, and Miss F. Edge, of Christchurch. POSTER BALL AT TE PAPAPA On Monday evening a very successful poster ball was held in the Town Hall, Te Papapa, which was brilliantly decorated for the occasion. Chinese lanterns and coloured streamers added to the light effect, and the supper-room was prettily decked with flowers and streamers. An excellent orchestra provided the newest dance music. Among those present were: Mrs. Strong, flame-coloured satin frock relieved with silver lace. Mrs. H. Austin, black crepe de chine gown ornamented with red .roses. Mrs. Hayes, frock of green georgette, sequinned. Ms. F. Bouzard, flame-coloured georgette frock trimmed with gold. Mrs. L. Bouzard, riavy blue frock with sequinned panels and belt. Miss Sim, ivory georgette frock. Miss I. C. Hayes, turquoise blue crepe de chine gown. Miss H. Hayes, frock of silver lame and rose-coloured georgette. Miss Lynds, blue georgette frock with over-dress of black lace. Miss Wilson, frock of white chiffon velvet, and black shawl. Miss D. McDermott, beige georgette .frock. Miss M. O’Brien, frock of mauve frilled net and gold tissue. Miss Rowe, black satin gown. Miss Allan, rose shot taffeta frock. Miss Parker, apricot satin and lace frock. Miss G. Hayes, frock of apricot crepe de chine and black shawl. Miss D. Mortenson, gown of olive green taffeta and white .shawl. Miss G. Lipscombe, frock of turquoise blue georgette and white shawl. Miss J. Jessop, green crepe de chine frock. Miss M. Brunker, black georgette frock. Miss M. Hansford, pink sequinned Mss Stella Ansell, frock of sea green silk. Miss Daphne Polglase, silver lame gown.
