BEEF MARKET FIRM HEAVY SHEEP YARDING Values for beef at Westfield today held practically on a par with late rates. Steady competition was registered throughout the sale. An average yarding of ox beef came forward, but quality, generally, was not quite up to the standard of that seen in the yards a few weeks ago. The biggest percentage of the cattle was only light to medium prime. A few of the toppriced pens, however, were exceptionally choice prime and met with keen competition. Taylor Bros., Taupiri, were responsible for the day's best line, two trucks of exceptionally well done cattle on account of these vendors made from £l6 12s 6d to A IS. Though not exceptionally big framed, the line was solid and heavy. A few trucks of well-finished good butchers’ cattle came forward from the Te Awamutu district. Bourne Bros, had ;i line forward which made from £l4 6s t 0 £l6 2s 6d. W. J. and H. H. Thompfrom the same district, averaged *l4 17s 6d.
