MT. ALBERT BOROUGH MEETING OF COUNCIL On a basis of unimproved value, rates for the year in the Mount Albert Borough were fixed at 7}d in the £, exclusive of water and sanitation charges, at fast evening’s council meeting. The unimproved system is being used in the borough this year for the first time. Estimates on the general account provided for the expenditure of £18,835 during the year. The erection of three new service stations in the borough was reported and notification of the installation of an automatic alarm at Argyle Street railway crossing, Morningside, was received. For Richardson Road reconstruction, 12 tenders were received, the lowest, £8,669, being accepted.
