SON DEFRAUDS FATHER
MOCK RADIO OPERATOR WENT TO SYDNEY INSTEAD OF SCHOOL Press Association. PALMERSTON N., To-day. The story of how a son defrauded his father of £3OO by posing as a wireless operator was told in the Police Court, Ralph Russell Lunn pleaded guilty to a charge of receiving £65 from his father by means of false pretences. The father said that two years ago accused said he was in a wireless school at Wellington, and he had given him £lB and later sums totalling £300; accused saying he had a position to go to which needed money. The money which formed the basis of the charge was used by accused and a companion to go to Sydney for a trip. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
