TRADING was quiet on ’Change this morning with slightly less attention being paid to banks.

In banks N.S.W. were not quoted this morning. The market for most shares remains firm at late quotations, however. In insurances Nationals maintain their recent increased strength, and left to-day’s mid-day call with sellers at 16s supported by buyers at 15s 9d. Coals, shipping, timbers, woollens, and most miscellaneous shares are quiet, with practically no movement recorded. The better class securities remain in good tone and meet with a steady demand.
