JASPER’S LIMITED

1928 MODEL Jasper’s, Limited (1928 Model), represents the last word in pierrot companies, and for the first time in its history will be produced at the Majestic Theatre, beginning on Friday. Nothing like it (amateur or professional) has ever been heard in Auckland before. This brilliant show includes clever sketches, screaming burlesques, tuneful opera, and furious farce. Solos and harmonies are also an attractive feature. Many of the troupe are professionals who give their services to Jasper’s charities. The company includes Peggy Cutting, Rosie Stratton, Dorie Henderson, Marjorie Somerville, Edna Herrick, Hope Asher, Molly Green, Nellie Lingard, Connie Winthrop, Pearl Owen, Agnes Calder, Len Keven, Bert Valentine, Charles Massee, Robert Nixon, Reg White, Ophir Rees, Les Knott, Percy Wright, Torchy Orford, Rex Hart. The accompanist is Mrs. May Osborne, and the producer, of course. Jasper Calder. On the screen will be shown “Love Hungry,” an appetising dish for a world of romance seekers with Lois Moran, Marjorie Beebe, Lawrence Gray and Edythe Chapman. This is a comedy romance of modern youth, revealing the heart of a love-hungry girl waiting at the cross roads of romance for the Prince Charming of her dreams.
