riE market on 'Change this morning opened for the week in particularly good tone. A healthy volume of business was recorded.

Bank of New Zealands are firm at Saturday's closing rates, further business beini? recorded at 59s 3d. Other scrip in this section continues to meet with a steady demand, with practically no change in the market. Tn the insurance section Nationals have hardened appreciably to see business at 15s lOd, with more wanted at 15s Bd, but no sellers quoting. Tattle movement is recorded in the miscellaneous section. Sanfords were active outside the call room this morning, the ordinaries being dealt with at 20s 3d, and the preference at 20s 9d.

The market for the ordinaries weakened slightly at mid-day, sellers leaving the call at 20s, with no buyers listed. Mining remains quiet.
