Farr pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to a charge of being intoxicated while in control of a motorcar in Karangahape Road yesterday. It was found after the accident that Parr was definitely under the influence of liquor. Mr. Hall Skelton, who appeared for accused, said Parr had taken two whiskies, and not being a drinking man, this had upset him. The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, fined Parr £25, and would have cancelled his licence but for the fact that he had to drive a truck when engaged on his road-contracting work.
