FARMERS’ UNION AFFAIRS
PROTEST FROM MORRINSVILLE Objection to the publication of details regarding inter-branch disputes and misunderstandings was expressed at an Auckland provincial executive meeting of the New Zealand I 1 armers Union held last evening. The question arose out of a letter from Morrinsville which informed the executive that the branch there had passed two resolutions, one censuring the executive for its alleged tardiness in the publication of the agenda paper for the provincial conference, and the other stating that the Morrinsville branch did not attach itself to any political party nor favour any direct political action. The president., Mr. A. A. Ross, stated that the first intimation he had had of any dissatisfaction at Morrinsville had come through press reports. It was quite evident that the agenda paper had been got out in ample time to allow the branches to discuss the remits before the conference. He regretted the fact that the branch had not communicated with the executive before giving publicity to its grievance. It was decided to remind the Morrinsville branch that all union questions should be dealt-with in committee and ask that the branch seriously consider rescinding other motions mentioned in its letter to the executive.
