MacMillan Brown, who has left for a holiday visit to Niue Island, received advice before his departure that he had been awarded the gold medal of the Royal Colonial Institute (now the Royal Empire Society), for his book, “Peoples and Problems of the Pacific.” This medal is usually awarded for a work of outstanding Imperial interest.
