Large parcels of Australian Commonwealth Stock have been sold lately, and the proceeds sent to New York to purchase the 4-j per cent. Commonwealth stock recently issued there at 92, which owing to the break on Wall Street, is obtainable at nearly a 4 per cent, discount. Stock Exchange men in London are considerably perturbed. They think it likely that this will seriously prejudice future issues here. DEMAND FOR AYRSHIRES Press Association. PALMERSTON N., Wednesday. At the Ayrshire breeders’ stud stock sale to-day the highest price realised was s.»gns for a heifer sold on behalf of G. A. Colpman. A cow sold on account of J. Montgomerie (Kauwhata) realised 52igns. A heifer on account of C. D. Morgan (Woodville) realised 50gna.
