FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE
REGULATIONS COMMENDED Press Association. PALMERSTON N., Wednesday. The annual meeting of the Southdown Breeders’ Society passed a resolution commending the efforts of the Agricultural Department in safeguarding the interests of livestock breeders in preventing foot-and-mouth disease, and urging the continuance of a rigid protective policy. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr. James Knight, of Feilding; Afice-presidents, Messrs. J. Deans, South Island, and C. E. Vile. North Island; council. Messrs. H. J. Andrew. W. J. Gimblett, J. Knight, J. Stevenson, C. E. Vile. A resolution AA'as passed that the secretary should write to the American Society asking for the recognition of New Zealand Southdowns being eligible for the American Stud Book.
