DRAINAGE BOARD SUCCEEDS (From Our Oven Correspondent i HAMILTON, To-day. Judgment for the Hillside Drainage Board for £6B 16s 6d and costs was given by Mr. F. W r . Platts, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day in the case in which the board sued Wilfred Norman Speedy, farmer, Puketaha, for unpaid rates. Defendant’s main defence w'hen the case was before the court some days ago was that his property had been incorrectly valued.

Insurances On House. —The house at 20 Woodford Road, Mount Eden, owned by Mr. T. F. Houlahari, which was destroyed by fire yesterday morning, was insured for £2,000 and the furniture ; for £950, both with the Norwich Union.
