OPENS AT PALMERSTON Press Association. PALMERSTON N., Tuesday, i At the National Dairy Show, which opened to-day in dull weather, there was a. large attendance. The apple championship, open (o the whole Dominion, was won by F. Peters, of Waipawa; B. H. Clift, of Havelock North, being second; and the GreyI town Fruit Company, third. Champion class for the Fruitgrowers’ Association: Wairarapa, first; Manawatu, second. Mr. W. T. Penny, secretary of the Manawatu A. and P. Association, was taken ill and his duties at present are being performed by Mr. Quigley, secretary of the Dannevirke A. and P. Association. Over 400 delegates were in attendance at noon at the National Dairy Association conference and this is claimed to be a record, showing the value of Palmerston North as a conference meeting place. The annual report and balance-sheet | were adopted.
