ALLEGED BLACKMAIL
BURNING OF MOTOR-LORRY CASE HEARD AT HAMILTON (From Our Oxen Correspondent) HAMILTON, To-day. Cuthbert Sydney Why man appeared in the Supreme Court to-day charged with obtaining money by extortion from Henry Langguth. Mr. H. T. Gillies prosecuted for the Crown, and Mr. F. J. Mouatt appeared for the prisoner. It was stated by Mr. Gillies that accused demanded £2O from Langguth, failing payment of which would accuse him of deliberately burning a motor-lorry. Accused pleaded not guilty. The case is proceeding.
