SHEEP FROM THE ROCKIES
FOR AUCKLAND ZOO arrivals by hauraki Two Rocky Mountain sheep for th o Auckland Zoo arrived last evening by the motor-vessel Hauraki. The animals, very like goats, ar9 from the Rocky Mountain Park, Banff, Canada, and stood the voyage across the Pacific very well. The Hauraki made the record run of ])e r career in the ’Frisco-Auckland service, doing the voyage in 20 days Uiree hours. The sheep were harboured aft, and as the weather throughout was fair, they landed this morning, after inspection by the quarantine officials, very little the worse for their long sea trip. The Hauraki also brought two pedigreed bulls. One, a Jersey, is for the Waikato, and the other, a Friesian, is for Wellington. They also stod up to the rigours of sea transit without any apparent after effects.
