DOMINION ROAD TRAFFIC

PARKING AT TERMINUS The traffic inspector reported to the Mount Eden Borough Council last evening that William Street and Rocklands Avenue so far had served as parking places for vehicles for people visiting the Capitol Theatre and the Zelandia Hall, and also for shopping purposes. If additional space were desired tlie centre of Dominion Road from the south side of Rocklands Avenue outwards could be utilised. The area between Balmoral Road and Rocklands Avenue was the most congested part of Dominion Road, and should not be made a parking area. In addition to it being a tram terminus there was a stand for three taxis, and the feeder buses used part of this space to set down passengers, and also used William Street as a turning point. There was also a stand for three taxis in William Street. As very little traffic used William Street and Rocklands Avenue during the evening they were ideal parking places. During the day the tradespeople at the terminus utilised these streets to park their trade vehicles, which relieved the congestion of the roadway immediately in front of their premises. jfes.
